Carlyle has acquired Secturion Systems, a Utah-based company that produces NSA-certified hardware encryption products. Secturion was founded in 2012 and has been added to Carlyle's middle-market aerospace, defense, and government services platform. Sean Berg has been named CEO of Secturion Systems.

The NSA and DEVCOM Army Research Office have launched the QuantumEAGLe initiative to support the President's Quantum Executive Order. This initiative aims to advance and grow the quantum ecosystem. The Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the NSA is collaborating with the Army Research Office on this effort.

National security agencies from the Five Eyes have released a statement warning of the increasing cyber risks of AI models. Modern AI systems can be used to help people do harmful things, making cyber-attacks easier to execute. To counter this, AI will be needed for defense as well.
