The US Army's Combat Capabilities Development Command has developed a technology called Advanced Sealing-Interface Surveillance Technology (ASIST) that can be used to protect athletes. This technology has shown potential for use in the athletic gear industry. The Army's Technology Transfer Office facilitated an agreement to explore this crossover application.
