The US Department of the Navy has announced its decision to conduct training and testing activities for the Surveillance Towed Array Sensor System Low-Frequency Active (SURTASS LFA) sonar system. The decision is based on Alternative 1 in the SURTASS LFA Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement. The training and testing activities will be conducted as identified in the preferred alternative.
