The Army has developed the Infantry Squad Vehicle, a tactical vehicle that carries nine passengers and their equipment. The vehicle was created using a rapid acquisition approach with commercial off-the-shelf solutions and minimal military modifications. This approach allowed for quick fielding of the vehicle to meet changing battlefield needs.

The US Army has selected GM Defense, Ford, and BC Customs to build nine prototypes of the ISV-Heavy vehicle, with delivery expected by March 30, 2027. The ISV-Heavy program aims to provide the Army with a new generation of infantry squad vehicles. The prototypes will be used for testing and evaluation.
