The Army has created a new path for non-commissioned officers to become software warrant officers, aiming to build expert software teams to support operational commanders. The first batch of software warrant officers has graduated, and they will work on building tools, including AI-enabled applications, to address unit problems. This initiative is part of the Army's effort to retain software-savvy talent and improve its technological capabilities.
