The British Army's Wildcat AH1 helicopters will begin retirement in 2027, as announced in the Defence Investment Plan. The fleet entered service in 2014 and will be withdrawn after a relatively short period of operation. The plan includes significant investments in multiple domains, but the retirement of the Wildcat helicopters was an unexpected announcement.
