Taiwan's Coast Guard Administration received a new 1,000-ton patrol ship, Penghu, as part of a $1.3 billion fleet build-up plan. The plan aims to expand Taiwan's white hull fleet to counter Chinese activities. The cutter is the fifth vessel in a class of six from a 2018 plan.
