The U.S. Navy is developing a next-generation standoff torpedo for carrier-based aircraft and drones, called the Silent Anvil Air-Launched Torpedo. The new weapon aims to strike subsurface targets at range, weighing up to 268 pounds. A request for information was released by Naval Air Systems Command to field the new anti-submarine weapon.
