MIT Lincoln Laboratory has proposed a laser-based satellite constellation for cislunar space to provide GPS-like capabilities for Moon missions. The system, called LightHOUSE, aims to enhance navigation and communication in the cislunar region. This technology could significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of space missions.
