The US Air Force has awarded GE Aerospace and Kratos a contract to develop a new turbofan engine for the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile. The engine, previously known as the GEK800, will serve as a second engine option for the JASSM. The companies announced the contract, which designates the engine as the F143-ZZ-100.
