BWXT is in discussions with U.S. Naval Reactors about a proposed nuclear-powered battleship that could utilize a Ford-class aircraft carrier reactor design. Supplier work for the project may begin as early as 2028. The design could potentially leverage existing technology from the Ford-class carriers.
