Germany has scrapped its F126 frigate program due to cost and schedule risks, and will instead procure MEKO warships. The decision was made by the German Federal Ministry of Defence, citing significant project delays and foreseeable cost increases. The MEKO warships are expected to meet NATO capability requirements.
