The Space Force's Space Development Agency and the Pentagon's Defense Innovation Unit have announced preliminary contracts for the Deorbit-as-a-Service project. The project aims to launch hundreds of satellites and use contractor spacecraft to remove them from orbit later. Contracts were awarded to Firefly Aerospace, Katalyst Space, and D-Orbit.
