The 1st Battalion, 223rd Aviation Regiment at Fort Rucker has reintroduced solo cross-country flights to its Basic Warfighting Skills curriculum. Student pilots will navigate the national airspace independently after two weeks of preparation. The flights will range from 50 to 100 nautical miles beyond Shell Army Heliport.
