Two teams from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division, have received awards from the Naval Sea Systems Command. The first team is led by Mechanical Engineer Wilmer Ortiz Rodriguez, who was recognized as Mentor of the Year for his work in developing new engineers and supporting the Navy's Arleigh Burke DDG 51 Flight III ships. The second team, the Helo Hangar Door Team, earned the Readiness Generation Award for developing an additive manufacturing solution to restore shipboard capability and support Navy readiness.
